lego crayons

As promised, here are photos of some of the many lego crayons I made this past Christmas to give to Avery's friends.  These are the ones I ended up keeping for Avery, and as you can see, they are a little worn down because they've been in use!  I purchased a lego-shaped mold on eBay and used this tutorial, but ended up increasing the oven temperature to 225-250 degrees (depending on the batch).  Recycled crayons are fun and economical to make, and there is an endless variety of shapes and possibilities out there!

heart-shaped recycled crayons

I've been busy the last couple of weeks making things for Avery's upcoming birthday and Valentine's Day!  Here are some heart-shaped crayons that I made to pass out for Avery's second birthday.  I can't believe my baby is almost two!  Here is a link to the how-to.  I made different shapes for Christmas presents in December and will post a few photos of those in the near future.

I can't believe it's August already! We're more than halfway through the summer.

I've gotten into the habit in the last couple of years of buying ilee's calendar, which is hand printed using letterpress, silkscreen and foil stamping.  I love how she distills the essence of each month into a lovely and engaging illustration.  Browse her etsy shop and you'll find something you like!
